  Amboseli  -  Region of Amboseli
Amboseli is famous for its big game - elephants, lions and cheetahs are the main attractions - and for its great scenery beauty. Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats, plus a generally dry lake-bed - Lake Amboseli. These are open plains; extensive stands of yellow-barked acacia woodland; rocky, lava strewn thorn-bush country; swamps and marshes; and at the western end of the reserve, above Namanga, the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok rising to over 2,760m (8.300ft) and still for the most part zoologically unexplored.
The landscape is dominated by the glistening majestic snow cap of mount Kilimanjaro immediately to the south making the park a breathtaking destination.

Located about 15 minutes flight North of Lamu, Kiwayu truly is a tropical paradise hideaway. Perched on the edge of the border with Somalia Kiwayu is isolation at its best with deserted beaches and the warm blue Indian Ocean all to yourself.  During the days you have a host of choices from creek fishing to deep sea fishing, to diving or sailing. Alternatively you can take a walk down the empty beach or just sit back in your hammock and enjoy the peace and beauty of this magical destination.
  Laikipia 
This spectacular region is considered the gateway to Kenya's wild Northern frontier country. Wild and sparsely populated, much of Laikipia is covered by large privately owned ranches. These ranches cover a wide range of landscapes, with high plains and low forested valleys. On most ranches cattle share the land with free ranging wildlife. In recent years this wildlife has become a valuable asset, with many ranches now establishing guest houses, home stays and private camps within their boundaries. This has proven a great success, and many ranches now rely on a thriving tourist trade.
  Lamu
The island, just of Kenya's far North coast, is a place of great natural beauty, with long deserted beaches framed by rolling sand dunes and the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
Lamu is the perfect place for a beach safari with a difference, a truly unique destination that lingers long in the hearts of all who visit.  The real attraction here is the islands' fascinating history, a long and exotic tale that draws the visitor back into the world of the 14th century. Lamu has developed a culture drawn form many sources, and in the streets and markets of the old town, life continues unhurried and unchanged by outside influences.
  Maasai Mara
The Masai Mara National Reserve is probably the most famous and most visited reserve in Kenya. It offers breathtaking views (seen in the film 'Out of Africa', much of which was filmed here) an extraordinary density of animals including the "Big Five" and many varieties of plains game.  
  Mombasa
Mombasa is an island connected to the mainland by bridges and ferries. The town over looks a wide harbor, where commercial shipping mingles with traditional sailing dhows.
The true heart of Mombasa is found in the exotic old town, among the narrow winding streets and Arab architecture. The air here is always heavy with the scent of spices. Women wearing the traditional bui bui fill the narrow streets and busy markets. At the dhow docks fresh fish and goods from all along the coast arrive daily. The streets are alive with the bright colours of the traditional coastal khanga and kikoy, the all purpose wrap around cloth worn by both men and women
  Samburu
In the arid North of Kenya, water means life. The waters of the great Ewaso Nyiro river draw wildlife in great numbers to its banks, creating an oasis of green.
This river flows through three great northern reserves, Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba. This is spectacular country, set against a backdrop of the mighty Mountain Ol Olokwe.

Die koloniale Geschichte von Kenia stammt aus dem Aufbau eines deutschen Protektorat über die Küsten -Besitzungen des Sultans von Sansibar im Jahr 1885, gefolgt von der Ankunft des kaiserlichen British East Africa Company in 1888.
Beginnende imperialen Rivalität wurde vorkommen wenn Deutschland die Küstenstreifen im Jahre 1890 an  Großbritannien auslieferte.

Die Massai sind ein nomadisch lebendes Hirtenvolk, das in den weiten Ebenen in Kenia, aber auch in Tansania beheimatet ist. Die Massai leben noch nahezu genauso wie ihre Vorfahren vor Hunderten von Jahren.

Kisuaheli (auch Swahili) wird gegenwärtig von ca. 40 Millionen Menschen im ostafrikanischen Raum gesprochen. Es ist die wichtigste Umgangssprache in Tansania (dort sogar wichtiger als Englisch), Kenia und Uganda, wird aber auch in Rwanda, Burundi und im östlichen Zaire verstanden. Weil Swahili von fast allen Ostafrikanern als erste Fremdsprache erlernt wird, tut man als Reisender gut daran, sich wenigstens Grundkenntnisse dieser Sprache anzueignen. Man wird sich so in den meisten ostafrikanischen Ländern verständigen können, auch wenn sich hier und da Elemente einheimischer Dialekte und französische Wörter mit dem suahelischen Wortschatz vermischen. Kisuaheli zu lernen ist also eine gute Möglichkeit, sich mit wenig Aufwand in relativ vielen Ländern mit einfachen Leuten zu unterhalten und sich so der Kultur Afrikas auf andere Weise zu nähern.
